Community Building

Community building: the beating heart of SINGA Luxembourg

Activities are the core of SINGA Luxembourg. They aim to create connections between newcomers (asylum seekers, refugees, immigrants) and locals, fostering encounters, exchanges, and the building of shared social value.

Through recreational, sports, cultural, and educational activities, we seek to brighten the often repetitive and isolating daily lives of people in vulnerable situations. These collective moments are designed to encourage active participation, mutual support, and the expression of everyone’s talents.

These activities are either organized directly by SINGA Luxembourg or co-created with associations or partner companies committed to working alongside us.

Together, we build human bridges where there were once borders.

As part of the Inclusion+ program, we offer a series of cultural and community activities designed to help newcomers feel more connected, confident, and involved in life in Luxembourg. These initiatives provide concrete opportunities to meet people, discover the local culture, and develop autonomy.

What we offer

  • Intercultural exchange sessions, where participants can share their experiences, ask questions, and learn from others in a safe and supportive environment.

  • “Living Dialogues” workshops, providing a safe space to tell one’s story or simply listen and interact with others.

  • Thematic discussion groups addressing topics such as daily life in Luxembourg, administrative procedures, language learning, and cultural adaptation.

  • Participation in cultural and local events, including community festivals, creative workshops, and activities organized by third places and community partners.

  • Guided introductions to local cultural actors, enabling newcomers to access regular activities and feel fully integrated into the community.

Our objectives

Through these initiatives, we aim to help newcomers discover and understand their new environment, strengthen their self-confidence, and reduce social isolation. We also seek to foster meaningful connections with residents and other newcomers while encouraging cultural autonomy and active participation in community life.

SINGA Luxembourg promotes sustainable development by collaborating with three natural parks and a foundation in Luxembourg, namely the Our Natural Park, the Öewersauer Nature Park, the Natur&ëmewelt Foundation Hëllef fir d’Natur, and the Mëllerdall Nature & Geopark.

With the support of our partners, we aim not only to raise awareness but also to bring together newcomers and Luxembourg residents to engage in environmental causes and current ecological challenges.
