Why SINGA?
Because I strongly believe that society has everything to gain from being open, enriched by diversity and human connections, and that this openness is essential to its survival. In my view, policies promoting the inclusion of newcomers are fundamental: they should allow them to live with dignity and fully find their place in society.
With SINGA, I feel that I can contribute concretely to this integration dynamic by helping build a more inclusive Luxembourgish society while supporting the rights of newcomers. Even though there is still a long way to go, this commitment feels meaningful and impactful to me.
3 fun facts:
As an animal lover, I convinced my parents (who are not fans at all) to keep a series of unusual pets: triops, caterpillars, gerbils, chicks… and now a rabbit.
During my first outreach round, my friend and I spent quite a long time talking to a man… who was not homeless at all. He simply enjoyed sitting alone in the street and had a somewhat old-fashioned clothing style. A reminder not to judge by appearances! :)
When I first learned to speak, I had to see a speech therapist to get rid of an Alsatian accent (even though I had never been to Alsace at the time it remains a mystery).
Quote:
“The mark of the immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause, while the mark of the mature man is that he wants to live humbly for one.”
