On Tuesday, we got together to make kites and fly a few.

Led by Afghan-born Faisal Sediqi, we shared this tradition with newcomers and locals alike,

Kite-flying is a tradition in Afghanistan. 🇦🇫

From November until the Persian New Year on 21 March, great battles are fought in the sky. The aim is to cut your opponent's kite string. The thread is made by hand, often in the family.

It was a day full of surprises, bright colours and, above all, laughter.
